• Public Policy Services

USIIA’s primary mission is service to members and public policy initiatives on behalf of the industry. Benefits of membership, therefore, are designed to create a positive legislative environment for industry growth, and to provide members with the information they need to manage and grow their Internet and online companies. These benefits include:

• Legislative Representation. USIIA has been active at the state and Federal levels in regulatory and legislative matters. We have testified before the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the House of Representatives, the US Senate and other governmental bodies, as well as in state legislatures on matters affecting the Internet and online industries.

• Business and Legal Assistance. USIIA provides referrals to appropriate legal resources with experience in online law, accounting, commerce, and other management services. In addition, USIIA will provide its members with assistance with the news media, expert testimony regarding the industry in legal cases, Amicus briefs and other filings as appropriate.

• The Internet’s Legislative Information. USIIA offers an up-to-date list of all relevant technology and Internet legislation before Congress. It also provides an index to state legislatures, enabling members to track state legislation that will affect them.

• Industry and Legislative News and Information. USIIA members are among the best informed in the industry, thanks to key publications that include:

• USIIA Bulletin, a weekly summary of essential legislative and industry news, delivered each Monday to orient you for the week.

• USIIA Policy Alerts, immediate and breaking news that will affect how you conduct your business, issued as the need arises.

Plus, your membership provides unlimited access to the USIIA archives of bulletins and alerts for 1996 to the present.

• Professional Services

• Employment Opportunities. USIIA maintains relationships with leading recruiters in the industry, and places notices of career opportunities at all levels in its weekly USIIA Bulletins.

• Business Publications.  This includes white papers on a variety of business and industry topics, as noted in our publication section.

• The USIIA Web Site. Our dynamic web site contains information, facts, figures, references to other resources, a member database, referral services for members, copies of current and pending legislation, white papers, the USIIA Congressional database online, and other critical information. And we are consistently upgrading the site with new features – including career opportunities, daily news headlines, membership areas and more.

• Use of the USIIA Logo. USIIA Members in good standing may demonstrate their membership by displaying the USIIA logo on their online service or web site.

• Interaction With Other Professionals. USIIA events at leading national Internet and online trade shows, as well as the annual meeting of the Association and regional meetings, afford the opportunity for professionals to Interact with one another.

• Other Products and Services. USIIA members represent leading companies and organizations in our industry. For this reason, companies frequently extend special offers – from publications and products to discounts on services – to USIIA members. These change on a regular basis, but we make every effort to maintain a continuing stream of additional items of interest in high technology fields.
